Mano Volante

Literally flying hand, it indicates the ability of the glass master's continuous hand movement during the shaping of hot murano glass.
This technique has been introduced in Murano during the 19th Century and - though it's very scenic - it is synonymous with the master's talent and it allows the addition of numerous decorations: on the hot surface of the almost molten glass multiple bands, embossed decorations, or spiral wires can be applied.
