Descended from one of the ancient Venetian glass families, Rosa Barovier Mentasti graduated in Ancient Letters at the University of Padua in 1973 with a thesis on ancient glass.
Since then he has devoted himself to the study of the history of ancient and modern Venetian glass.
She’s nowadays one of the world's leading scholars of the history of glassmaking on Murano.
Author of numerous publications on Murano and international glass, she has curated several international exhibitions of ancient and contemporary glass, including Vetri nel mondo oggi, hosted by Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in Venice in 2004.
