Arnoldo (1939-2017) was a charismatic figure and the last direct heir to a piece of Murano history, the Fratelli Toso glassworks founded in 1854.
He belonged to the "Cangioro" branch of the Toso family, a nickname given around the 1600s to those who worked precious metals.
Arnoldo had joined the family business as a boy.
However, he does not become a master glassmaker. His job was to “fare le partite": that is, he was in charge of making mixtures of powders, sands and minerals which then melt inside the kilns.
When he grows up, he becomes the manager of the commercial management of the company, with murrine as the spearhead of family production
