Autunno Gemmato

Murano glass

This innovative technique for the Venetian glass industry was adopted by Ercole Barovier to create heavy and bulky objects, characterized by linear shapes decorated by elements made always of transparent glass.

Vase with a truncated-cone shape resting on a ringed base, characterized by vertical fluting that adds texture to its surface. The vase sports lateral, ring-shaped handles made of colorless glass, which were applied while the glass was still hot, seamlessly blending with the vase's structure. The most striking feature of this vase is its irregular burnt gold coloring, a result of the innovative technique of coloring glass without melting it. This method allows the glass to retain a unique hue, imbuing the piece with a distinctive, rich gold appearance that catches the light and draws the eye.
