Crecola

Crecola

It is a protuberance in iron or wood which can be an integral part of a stampo or be free inside it.

The crecola is used to give shape to blown glass with an undercut shape, if it is part of or is inside a mold. Instead, it is used to give shape to a hand-opened element if it is placed on top of it during the mano volante task.
In Venetian the term crecola also indicates a fish and a particular type of wild duck.
