Murano Glass on show in Berlin

Sand and fire.

Color hues and magic.

The Bröhan Museum in Berlin, located in the Charlottenburg district, pays tribute to Murano - the island of glass blowing - by hosting an exhibition entitled " Colori di Murano ".

The exhibition, started on July 14th, will be open to the public until October 23rd, has about 220 glass objects including artworks created by Toso brothers.

Antica Vetreria Fratelli Toso is one of the oldest and most traditional artistic glassmakers in Murano: founded in 1854 by the Toso family, it has always stood out as one of the best in the production of millefiori .

The exhibition will offer the public the opportunity to learn about the history of Murano (it was in 1291 when it ruled that the glassworks in Venice were transferred there for safety reasons, because the laboratory ovens were often responsible for disastrous wildfires in Venice) and to discover and enjoy a tradition that has involved generations of Muranese artists.
