An exhibition brings the collection of Barry Friedman from New York to the Museum of Glass in Murano, an art enthusiast who donated his collection to The Venitian Heritage - New York in 2017, which in turn brought it permanently to the Glass Museum of Murano is thus enriched by 177 works churned out by the best names in Murano glass of the twentieth century.
It was September 2016 when the New Yorker Barry Friedman, discoverer of talent since the purchase of his first small vase from the Loetz factory in 1966, donated his collection to The Venitian Heritage, a dedicated association. The Friedman Collection consists of 177 works that testify to the style and taste changes of Murano glass art throughout the nineteenth century and then until 1960.
Now thanks to Venetian Heritage, an international non-profit organization with offices in Venice and New York that acts within the framework of the joint UNESCO Program - International Private Committees for the Safeguarding of Venice, the Friedman collection will be exhibited permanently at the Murano Glass Museum in the Venice lagoon.
The exhibition is curated by Chiara Squarcina with the scientific direction of Gabriella Belli in collaboration with Venetian Heritage.
