Born in Trieste in 1950, he graduated in Architecture in Venice, under the guidance of Carlo Scarpa .
He curated the exhibition "Vetro Italiano 1920-1940" for the municipality of Turin.
In 1984 he was appointed chief consultant for the exhibition "The Venetians" held in the Karasik Gallery in New York.
In 1989 Allemandi publishes his book I Vetri di Venini, which will be followed in 1997, Murano '900 - Vetri e Vetrai , and again in 2007 I vetri Venini. La storia, gli artisti, le tecniche, 1921-2007 , in two volumes.
In 1996 he began his own production of artistic glass.
In December 2012 Allemandi publishes Fontana Arte - Giò Ponti , Pietro Chiesa , Max Ingrand.
In 2015 in partnership with the Milanese Gabriella Crespi, he created 4H (and) puzzle table, in just two copies, one with a red glass top and the other blue. The sculpture table takes up the model of Gabriella Crespi's Plurimi series, the profiles are in brass and the precious puzzle glass of the top was personally made by Franco Deboni in a Murano furnace.
Works by Franco Deboni can be found at the Murano Glass Museum, in Rotterdam and in the United States. The Galleria Rita Fancsaly in Milan, in addition to several works by Gabriella Crespi, exhibits a considerable collection of artistic vases by Franco Deboni.
Deboni collaborates with Auction Houses, Museums and Foundations all over the world. He is the expert in the glass sector for the Italian Federation of Art Merchants.
Over time he has produced many publications on the decorative arts of the twentieth century in collaboration with the major art magazines.
