Excluding from this term all the hot decorations made of thrown threads, morise or other decorative systems to be used in the furnace during processing, we can understand as decorations the engraving on glass obtained by means of cutters, grinding wheels and other means, the sandblasting, acid etching, and painting on glass.
The latter can be obtained with indelible colors or, better, with colors and techniques similar to decoration on ceramics.
In this case, the decorated piece, painted with vitrifying colors, is repassed in the kiln to obtain, precisely, the vitrification of the decoration.
