Edward Hald

Born in 1883, died in 1980.

One of the most representative glass engraver, capable of giving expressionist shapes to the material.

He attended the Art Studio in Copenhagen and later the Art League in Stockholm in 1908 - 1909 as a pupil of Matisse. He carried on works as a designer at Roerstrande's and Karlskrona's, both porcelain manufacturers. In 1917 he joined Orrefors, where he worked as director from 1933 to 1944 and stayed until 1978.
